I got carried away and forgot to take pictures for the sticks.  Here's what I got anyway.  To cut the slot, I sandwiched the tube between two pieces of wood and used an abrasive cutoff wheel mounted on a bench grinder.  The disc is 1/8" which is just about perfect for the .100 thick ends
Liking that Tig welder!!  I drew the sticks in auto cadd and used welding magnets to hold everything in place on my welding table for tacking.  I rough cut the angles with an abrasive cutoff saw and final sanded to the angle and length using a 12" disc sander.  I will say that I am glad I used a jig for the assembly.  There is not much room at all for the link to clear in the tube.  It turned out great!!!!
